Sweet Chili Shrimp

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb Shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1/2 cup Flour
  • 1/2 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper
  • 1/4 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp dried Basil
  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
  • 4 tsp Sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. Combine egg and milk in shallow bowl
  2. In another bowl combine flour, panko breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and dried basil
  3. Working with one shrimp at a time, add shrimp into breadcrumb mixture, then into egg wash, then again into breadcrumb mixture
  4. Arrange coated shrimp on a plate then place into fridge for 20 minutes
  5. In a small mixing bowl combine mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and sugar, set aside
  6. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat, approximately 2 inches deep
  7. Add a few shrimp at a time into oil
  8. Fry until golden, then flip
  9. Once shrimp are cooked through, remove onto a paper towel
  10. Once all shrimp is fried, drop shrimp into a large bowl and cover in half the sauce
  11. Serve with remaining sauce
