Mongolian Beef & Broccoli



  • 3 tbsp Cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 lb Boneless steak, cut into thin strips
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 1 Broccoli head, cut into bite size pieces
  • 1/2 Onion, sliced
  • 1/3 cup Soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Brown sugar
  • 1 tsp Ground ginger


  1. In a medium bowl combine 2 tbsp cornstarch, 1/4 cup water, and garlic powder
  2. Add Beef, submerge as much as possible
  3. Refrigerate for 15 minutes
  4. Heat a large skillet over medium heat, add 1 tbsp oil
  5. Drain liquid from beef, then add to skillet
  6. Once cooked through, remove into bowl
  7. Reduce heat to low, add remaining oil to skillet
  8. Stir in broccoli and onion
  9. Once broccoli is soft, return meat to skillet
  10. In a small mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger, remaining cornstarch and remaining water
  11. Add to skillet and stir for a few minutes
  12. Serve with your favorite side
