Strawberry Tres Leches Cake



  • 4 oz Butter, room temperature
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 5 Eggs, room temperature
  • 1 1/2 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups Flour
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 12 oz Evaporated milk
  • 14 oz Condensed milk
  • 1 cup Half & half
  • 1 lb Strawberries, chopped
  • 2 cups Heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup Powdered sugar


  1. Preheat oven to 350°
  2. Lightly butter a 9″ pan
  3. In a medium mixing bowl, beat butter on high
  4. Once fluffy, decrease speed to low and gradually add the sugar
  5. Once combined, add the eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each egg
  6. Add 1 tsp of vanilla, mix just until combined
  7. Separate flour, baking powder, and salt into three portions
  8. Add one portion at a time, until combined
  9. Transfer batter into pan, bake for 22 minutes
  10. In a small mixing bowl combine evaporated milk, condensed milk, and half & half
  11. Let cake cool for 10 minutes, poke cake all over with a fork
  12. Then pour milk mixture over cake, refrigerate for at least 2 hours
  13. Once cake has absorbed all of the mixture, cut into 1″ squares
  14. Place squares into dessert cups
  15. Arrange strawberries around cake pieces
  16. In a large mixing bowl, combine heavy whipping cream and powdered sugar
  17. Beat until mixture is stiff
  18. Spread or pipe throughout cake
  19. Refrigerate until ready to serve
