Easy Scalloped Potatoes



  • 6 Potatoes, peeled
  • 4 tbsp Butter
  • 1 Onion, grated
  • 6 Garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 cups Heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 tbsp Salt
  • 1/2 tbsp Pepper
  • 2 cups Cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup Monterey jack cheese


  1. Preheat over to 375°
  2. Using a mandolin, slice potatoes and place into a large bowl
  3. Heat a small saucepan on medium heat, add butter
  4. Once butter is melted, add garlic and onion
  5. Once aromatic, stir in heavy whipping cream
  6. Once simmering, remove from heat
  7. Layer a baking dish with some of the potatoes
  8. Season with salt, pepper and cheddar cheese
  9. Layer with potatoes, then season with salt, pepper and Monterey jack cheese
  10. Repeat with remaining potatoes, then pour garlic sauce over potatoes
  11. Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour
  12. Remove foil, and cover with remaining cheese
  13. Reduce heat to 350° and cook for another 30 min
  14. Let cool, then serve
